PESHAWAR, Aug 13: A rocket and two hand-grenades exploded in a scrap godown situated at the Hazarkhwani intersection in the jurisdiction of PS Yakatoot on Saturday.

However, no body was hurt in the blasts, police officials told Dawn. The godown is owned by an Afghan national, Mashaal Khan.

Police said that a truck brought scrape from Afghanistan and unloaded it at the godown of Mashaal Khan.

Soon after departure of the truck, a rocket exploded with a big bang, creating fear among the area residents. Thereafter two hand-grenades also exploded one by one, SHO PS Yakatoot Inspector Riaz Khan said, adding that police, bomb disposal squad and fire brigade rushed to the site.
