PESHAWAR, Aug 13: The provincial health department was severely criticised by the district council.
Waheed Khan, nazim of Acheeni Bala criticised the Health Regulatory Authority for its lukewarm response towards the business of spurious drugs. He also criticised hospital administrations and said that public sector hospitals were not providing drugs because of which people were losing confidence in these facilities.
He said that in rural areas, midwives posed themselves as doctors, causing more harm to the people than benefit. The Nazim criticised the government’s apathy towards these problems and said that only poor people suffered. He urged the government to act against quacks and the sale of substandard drugs.— Correspondent
