LAHORE, Aug 26: Belligerent batting by Jahangir Mirza and Rehman Qadir helped East Zone Whites defeat North Zone Blues by four wickets in the PCB Inter-district cricket championship Lahore region match at the LCCA Ground on Friday.

Chasing a target of 204, the East Zone Whites were struggling at 73 for four before Jahangir and Rehman came to their rescue.

In their seventh-wicket stand of 124, Jahangir scored 63 off 45 balls with nine fours and two sixes while Rehman hit rapid a 52-ball 57, cracking 10 boundaries.

In another match, fine knocks by Salman Qadir (50) and Ahmed Dar (52) steered West Zone Whites to a four-wicket victory over East Zone Blues at the Model Town Club Ground.

An unbroken second-wicket century partnership between Raza Ali (64) and Mohammad Kashif (57) helped North Zone Blues crush West Zone Blues by nine wickets at Railway Stadium.
