PTA with Mauritius in November


ISLAMABAD, Sep 7: Pakistan and Mauritius will sign a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), rule of origin and Customs cooperation pacts during the 5th session of their joint working group to be held in Islamabad in November this year.

The fourth session of the Pakistan Mauritius joint working group on PTA was held in Port Louis on August 29-30, 2006.

During the talks, the two sides expressed their keen desire to increase bilateral trade and economic relations through a comprehensive partnership agreement that will cover trade, services, investment, and economic and technical cooperation, according to a message received here from Port Louis.

To facilitate the exchange of concessions through an early harvest programme both sides agreed to expedite the process leading to the signing of the PTAby the trade ministers of the two countries in November in Islamabad.—APP
