Visa accord to be signed with Hungary
ISLAMABAD, Sept 7: Pakistan and Hungary have decided to conclude a visa abolition agreement and establish a joint business council to facilitate interaction between business communities and other institutions of the two countries.
The decision was taken at a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar and Hungarian Foreign Minister Dr Kinga Goncz in Budapest early this week.
“Talks between the two foreign ministers were held in a very cordial atmosphere in which the two sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and agreed to put the promotion of bilateral cooperation on a fast track,” a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Thursday said.
It was also agreed to enhance interaction between the two parliaments and bilateral cooperation in fields of mutual interest, such as trade, investment, culture and education sectors, the statement said.
During his Sept 4-6 visit, Mr Bakhtyar also called on Zsolt Nemeth, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Hungarian Parliament, and Jozsef Bali, State Secretary for Defence. Mr Bakhtyar also delivered an invitation from Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to his Hungarian counterpart to visit Pakistan.—Q.A.
