Teacher shot dead

LAHORE, Sept 13: A teacher of a private school was gunned down by two unidentified motorcyclists in Harbanspura on Wednesday morning. Police said Abdul Wahab, 28, a resident at Dars Baray Mian, had been teaching in Sagar High School, Gulshan Park, for the lat eight years.

The motorcyclists intercepted him when he reached near the gate of the school at about 7am and opened fire.

Three bullets hit Wahab. His colleagues rushed him to Shalimar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said Wahab had a scuffle with some students near a blanket factory a week ago and suspected that some of them might have attacked him.

The body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy.

A case was registered against unidentified people on the complaint of Abdul Razzaq, the victim’s brother.

SUICIDE: A teenage student committed suicide by taking poison in Shahdara Town.

Anjum Rashid, 18, was admonished by his father on arriving home late. He locked himself in his room and took poison.

He died in hospital.

However, Shahdara Town police did not confirm the incident.
