LAHORE, Sept 20: Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) on Wednesday said that it was unaware that two of national boxers were tested positive following a dope test at last month’s South Asia Games in Colombo.

“We have no official information on this issue from concerned quarters,” said secretary POA, Abdul Khaliq Khan.

It was reported that gold medal winner Nauman Karim and Dur Mohammad were reportedly tested positive for banned substances and they may be stripped off their medals.

“We did contact the organising committee and the national Olympic committee of Sri Lanka to know the exact situation but they informed us that they don't have any such information,” he said.

The POA official said the news appeared in the press quoted sports officials of Sri Lanka and did not disclose their identity.

“As far as POA is concerned what we know that not a single boxer was tested positive and only organising committee or the Sri Lankan Olympic association are the bodies to issue an official statement,” he said. —APP
