By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 20: Four women members of the Sindh Assembly belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and an employee of the Governor’s House were robbed of cash and valuables by four armed men on Jehangir Road on Tuesday night.

MPAs Rehana Nasreen, Asma Sherwani, Aziza Qazalbash and Fareen Ambreen were going to the MQM Headquarters in Azizabad after attending a meeting at the Governor’s House in a car driven by Khalid Mehmood when it was intercepted by the robbers on two motorcycles.

They were deprived of Rs150,000, some cheques, jewellery, cellphones and a passport.

An FIR was lodged at the Jamshed Quarters police station on the complaint of Mr Mehmood.

When the MQM headquarters was contacted for the victims’ comments, Dawn was informed that the four legislators had flown to London on Wednesday.
