Two fall prey to enmity

SIALKOT, Sept 29: Two people were shot dead while another was injured by their rivals near Kapurowali village, Muradpur, on Friday.

Police said Rehmat and Riaz groups had an old enmity. Riaz, Shahid and Shahbaz were going to Sialkot on a motorcycle to testify in a murder case. They were attacked by six gunmen from Rehmat group, riding in two cars, as a result of which Riaz and Shahid were killed on the spot while Shahbaz sustained injuries.

The injured was admitted to hospital in critical condition.

The attackers sped away firing shots in the air. Police have registered a case against Sadiq, Riaz, Rehmat Ali and three unidentified accomplices. No arrest has so far been made.

ROBBERY: Four robbers took away gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables worth Rs2.2 million from the house of an exporter in Noorabad, Uggoki, in broad daylight.

Robbers stormed into the house of Riaz, held his family members at gunpoint and escaped with the valuables.
