Dacoit killed in ‘encounter’

FAISALABAD, Oct 2: An alleged dacoit was killed in a shootout with police in Kurrianwala area here on Monday.

Police said they were informed that some outlaws were looting people at the main road. A police party was dispatched to the crime scene. Seeing the police, robbers opened indiscriminate fire. The police also returned the fire, killing one of the outlaws, while his six accomplices managed to escape. — Correspondent
