Dengue fever: no case in Punjab

LAHORE, Oct 2: Punjab Health Minister Tahir Ali Javed said here on Monday that the health department was fully alert to some reported cases of Dengue Fever in Sindh.

He said that not a single such case had so far been detected in Punjab. He said the director-general health had been nominated focal person to deal with any situation, adding there was nothing to worry about the fever.

Regarding diagnostic facilities for Dengue Fever, the minister said that the World Health Organisation (WHO) had bifurcated regions and established seven diagnostic centres in different Asian and African regions for detecting and diagnosing the fever which, he added, was rare in nature.—APP
