LAHORE, Oct 5: FIFA's development manager in Asia and Oceania, David Borja, reached here on Thursday to discuss matters relating to second Goal Project with Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).

The FIFA official, along with FIFA's Goal Project development officer Manilal Fernando, will be having a meeting on Friday with the PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat and secretary Arshad Lodhi.

The purpose of their visit is to finalise second Goal Project, decide the procedure for selecting consultant and to formulate tender procedure for the contract.

Besides, the officials will also discuss first Goal Project and its utilization of the facilities. They will also inspect the earthquake soccer programmes in Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Abbottabad besides discussing FIFA president Sepp Blatter's visit to Pakistan next month to inaugurate FIFA Football House.

Originally, the first Goal Project was to be constructed in Karachi but since the land was not available, it was established in Lahore.

Karachi is now poised to get the second Goal Project after Sindh Chief Minister Ghulam Arbab Rahim agreed to allot a 10 acre land in Trans Lyari Park famous as a soccer hub.

The decision of Sindh chief minister came just few hours before the deadline of Oct 5 by PFF for confirming availability of piece of land for the project. PFF had announced that second Goal Project would be allotted to Peshawar if Sindh fails to arrange a piece of land.—APP
