Woman accused injures herself

TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 11: A jail inmate on Wednesday severely injured her by glass cuts in Gojra city police station lock-up.

Reports said Sabiran Bibi, who has been serving sentence in a Hudood case, broke a glass and injured herself by piercing into various parts of the body. Critically injured, she was hurried to the tehsil headquarters hospital from where she was referred to the Toba Tek Singh DHQ hospital.

The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained.

Two killed: Two people were killed and 12 others, including two women, sustained injuries in a car-wagon collision on Wednesday on Toba-Gojra Road, some 3km away from here.

Reports said a wagon (AKU-542) was going from Faisalabad to Toba. Near Chak 323-JB, Rehmatabad, it overturned after colliding with a car (LPT-1843) coming from the opposite side. As a result of which wagon passengers Siddique of Gojra and Farzand of Chak 285-JB were killed on the spot while 12 others, including two women, suffered serious injuries and were admitted to DHQ hospital.

The condition of car driver Mohsin of Kamalia and Imran Abidi was stated to be critical.

The injured have been identified as Talib and Arshad of Chak 285-JB, Ashraf of Chak 164-GB, Aslam of Chak 313-JB, Shagufta of Gojra, Zaman of Chak 321-JB, Bashiran and Adnan of Chak 94-JB and Aslam of Chak 279-JB.
