KASUR, Oct 11: Police have recovered kites, twine and chemical string worth Rs1.2 million from a store while the owner managed to escape.

This was claimed by the Kasur district police officer while talking to newsmen at his office on Wednesday after the raid.

The DPO said police received information that Muhammad Sarwar had stored a large number of kites and chemically coated string.

A team, headed by city DSP Attique Sindhu and SHO Israr Shah, conducted a raid and recovered kites and chemical string, he said, adding that the owner managed to escape.

SUICIDE: An unidentified youth committed suicide by jumping into a well here on Wednesday at Judgewalla village.

The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained. Police have shifted his body to the city morgue.

RUN OVER: A girl was run over in a bid to board a running train here on Wednesday at Kasur railway station.

Reports said Sajida, 14, was trying to board a train when her foot slipped. Her legs got separated from her body. She was taken to Kasur DHQ hospital where she was placed on a ventilator.
