Nazim vows to raise literacy rate

SUKKUR, Oct 11: The District Nazim of Sukkur, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has said that the present government was trying to bring about a qualitative change in the education system in order to increase literacy in the country.

Addressing the “Salam Teacher” function organised by the Education Department in collaboration with the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) in connection with the World Teachers Day at the College of Education, Sukkur on Wednesday, he asked the teachers to work hard and with sincerity and devotion keeping in mind their sacred profession and upholding of its sanctity.

He said the government was trying its best to provide incentives to the teachers by increasing their salaries to enable them to work with full concentration and zeal and free from financial worries.

He said teachers play an important role in the improvement of education system.

The District Coordination Officer Sukkur, Shafique Ahmed Khoso, and the Executive District Officer (education), Sukkur, threw light on the role of the teachers in improving educational system.

The District General Manager NCHD, on the Occasion, said that the main function of the organization was to support and facilitates the education department with the sole objective to improve literacy ratio in the country.

RESULTS: The Controller of Examinations, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sukkur, has announced that the results of Higher Secondary Certificate Part-I (Class-XI) Annual Examination, 2006 (Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering groups) will be declared on October 12, 2006.
