ISLAMABAD, Nov 2: The local police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of senior journalist Malik Muhammad Ismail Khan, Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah told reporters here on Thursday. Mr Ismail was mysteriously killed in F-6 on Tuesday night.

In a meeting with a group of journalists at the interior ministry, the secretary said that the suspect had been living in a tent in the area where the body of the journalist was found. However, it could not be confirmed whether or not the arrested person was involved in the case.

The murder of Pakistan Press International (PPI) bureau chief has become a mystery not only for the journalist community but also for the police.
