SWABI, Nov 2: The Swabi Bar Association and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal have termed the Bajaur attack ‘state terrorism’ and rejected the government claim that the Maddrassah had been an abode of terrorists.

In their joint meeting held here on Thursday, the bar body and the political alliance reviewed the situation arising out of the killings in Bajaur in an air strike.

Former provincial general secretary of JUI, Najeem Khan advocate, said that the first and the foremost duty of the government was to provide security to its people and if it failed to discharge this responsibility it should immediately resign.

“The dilemma of our government is that it targeted its own people to seek pleasure of the Americans,” he said.

Jamaat-i-Islami MNA Mohammad Usman said that Bajaur killings were eye-opener for people and by now they should realise what the government wanted and how it was working on American agenda. He said that if the nation did not awake, the situation could become more dangerous.

He said the US was the biggest terrorist state in the world and its rulers and allies considered the Muslims their enemy. He said the US and its allies had raised cry of terrorism in a well planned manner only to victimise the Muslims.

Other leaders of the MMA and lawyer fraternity also expressed similar views and said the government was responsible for the killing of religious students.

Meanwhile district president of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, Asad qaiser, in a meeting of the party, also condemned the Bajaur incident.
