PBSA hosts reception for Yousuf

KARACHI, Nov 18: Pakistan's veteran cueist and former world champion Mohammad Yousuf on Saturday was showered with praise and cash awards worth Rs1 million for winning the World Masters’ event in Jordan.

The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) hosted a reception at the Karachi Club to honour the Pakistan team that took part in the competition.

Asghar Valika, the head of the PBSA, said the nation was proud on the Yousuf’s achievement and expressed hope he would put up good display in Asian Games starting from Dec 1 in Doha, Qatar.

Valika announced Rs50,000 for Naveen Pervani, who was beaten in the quarter-final, and Rs25,000 for Khurram Agha.

57-year-old Mohammad Yousuf said on the occasion he looked forward to win more competitions for the country after the victory.

He thanked the nation and the PBSA for their support and encouragement.—APP
