PESHAWAR, Nov 20: NWFP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Mohammad Idrees has said the Hasba bill will be enforced in letter and spirit after it is signed by the governor.
He hoped that the new legislation would prove a milestone in providing cheap and speedy justice to people. He said the poor would be able to access authorities.
He was talking to a delegation of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Isalm, led by Shamsur Rehman Shamsi, special assistant to the chief minister, at his office here on Monday.
Mr Shamsi congratulated Mr Idrees on the passage of the Hasba bill by the NWFP Assembly. He said the new law would ensure provision of justice to the common man.
The minister said the MMA government had no personal agenda and it had not plundered the public money and transferred it to foreign banks.
He said enforcement of the Hasba bill would pave the way for a new political culture, free from all sorts of corruption and malpractice and ensuring protection of poor segments of the society.
The delegation apprised the minister of problems faced by people of their areas.—PPI
