NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 15: A 14-hour long power supply breakdown occurred in over one dozen towns of Kandiaro and Mehrabpur talukas on Sunday night and on Monday.

Kandiaro, Mohbat Dero, Kamal Dero, Lakha Road, Mehrabpur, Halani and other parts of Kandiaro and Mehrabpur talukas plunged into darkness at 10pm on Sunday night. Power supply was restored at 2pm the next day.

In Kandiaro, power supply was again suspended on Monday but it was later restored.

The SDO, Hesco, Kandiaro, told journalists that a device used for incoming power supply had stopped functioning and staff had been called from Sukkur to remove the fault.

SUSPENDED: The in-charge district police officer and SP (investigation) suspended 24 officials of the Lakha Road police station on Monday.

The in-charge DPO, Gul Mohammad Sher, during a visit to the police station found the SHO, two ASIs and 21 other staff members absent.

He suspended SHO Saleem Jalbani, ASI Shabbir Chang of investigation wing, constable Ali Sher, Sher Mohammad, Abdul Ghani, Mohammad Naeem, Chanesar and others.
