SUKKUR, Jan 15: Sindh Chief Minister Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim visited Khangarh, Ghotki district and held discussions with the nazims and prominent people of the district on Monday.
According to informed sources, the Sindh chief minister held talks with the district nazim of Ghotki, Ali Gohar Khan Mahar, former chief minister Ali Mohammad Mahar, state minister Ali Nawaz Mahar and federal minister Ghaus Bux Khan Mahar.
Sources maintained that during the meeting, the Mahar brothers complained to Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, that despite being in the fold of ruling coalition, they were ignored, while preference was being given to provincial minister Nadir Akmal Leghari and Khalid Khan Lund.
They further complained that officers in the district were being appointed on the recommendation of Nadir Akmal Leghari and Khalid Lund.
On this, the chief minister assured them that he was not having any differences with them and all the summaries about development works of Ghotki would be approved soon, while officers in the district would be posted on merit.
He also advised the Mahar brothers to settle differences with Nadir Akmal Leghari and join hands to strengthen the party.
The district nazim of Ghotki, Ali Gohar Mahar, former Sindh chief minister Ali Mohammad Mahar, federal minister Ghaus Bux Khan Mahar, provincial ministers Mir Manzoor Khan Panhwar, Irfan Gul Magsi, advisor to the chief minister Zulfiqar Kamario and the district nazim of Sukkur, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, were also present on the occasion.
On the complaint of UC Nazim Reharki, Jam Abdul Fatah Samejo, the chief minister ordered the DPO of Ghotki to arrest the accused involved in the killings of Sardar Samejo and Ghulam Farid Samejo.
On another complaint, he also directed the Sukkur police to arrest the killers of naib nazim of UC Gudpur who was shot dead near Pano Akil.
Later, the CM attended a luncheon at hosted in his honour by the distyrict nazim Ghotki Ali Gohar Khan Mahar.
Our Khairpur correspondent adds: Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim visited Khuhra town on Monday and condoled with Makhdoom Shafique, Makhdoom Nadeem and Makhdoom Mansoor Ahmed, the sons of the assassinated chief editor of daily "Nijaat" Sukkur, Makhdoom Mohammad Rafique Hashmi.
The CM directed the DIG of Sukkur, Syed Zulfiqar Shah, to investigate the case and submit the report to him.
Later, the chief minister visited the shrine of Shaheed Makhdoom Abdul Rehman and offered fateha.
