KARACHI, Jan 16: The government’s decision to cut prices of petroleum products has been termed as yet another step to oblige the capitalists of the country. The leaders of Anti-Privatisation and Peoples’ Rights Forum said that the government had failed to serve the interests of the masses and the recent announcement of cut in prices of petroleum products was an ample proof of its incompetence.

They said that prices of petroleum products had been on the decline for the last one year and the government was duty bound to cut the prices by at least 40 per cent.

They said that all the economic policies including export and import system of the government had totally failed, which could easily be judged from the soaring prices of daily-use items and different types of taxes.

The forum leaders also opposed the privatisation process, terming it as anti-labour and demanded a cut in diesel prices.
