HYDERABAD, Jan 16: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has made it clear that the trauma centre being established in the city will not cater to the needs of a population of a limited area but will benefit the entire population of the district.

He said that if need arose, another trauma centre would be established in Qasimabad and stressed the need for generating more funds for the taluka. He urged the taluka nazim to bring about effective changes in the taxation system to generate more funds and offered cooperation of the district government.

He was talking to members of the Qasimabad taluka council at the taluka nazim's office on Monday, which he visited on the invitation of the council.

Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Nuzhat Pathan, Qasimabad Taluka Nazim Noor Mohammad Shoro, Naib Nazim Hyder Shahani, the naib nazims of union council 1, 2 and 3, some councillors and office bearers of shopkeepers’ association were present on the occasion.

The district nazim said that some political ‘jugglers,’ who were trying to champion the cause of Qasimabad, had given nothing to the people except hollow slogans and ethnic divide. As a result, he added, the taluka, which was mostly populated by educated people, had been rendered backward.

However, he said that presently the people of Qasimabad recognized their well-wishers and foes. He said that the rejected elements had unleashed negative propaganda about the trauma centre and Rani Bagh for their political survival. He said that Rani Bagh was the property of Qasimabad and would continue to remain its property.

He said that keeping in view limited resources of the taluka and importance of Rani Bagh, the district government had launched construction and repair work there at a cost of Rs72 million.

He said that Bhitai Nagar park had also been constructed by the district government and the construction of Naseem Nagar park would be completed in a week.

Mr Jamil said that the district government wanted to constructed trauma centre near the main roads of the city.

MONITORING COMMITTEES: Structural changes have been brought about in the district monitoring system by setting up six committees to supervise ongoing development works in different sectors.
