PESHAWAR: 500 recruits to be trained this year


PESHAWAR, Jan 16: The project director of law-enforcing agencies, Fata, Said Rasool, on Tuesday said training of 500 new recruits of the Levies would be completed by December this year.

He was talking to the first batch of the Levies being trained in Ghalanai, headquarters of Mohmand Agency, said a press release. Mohmand Agency political agent Dr Jamal Nasir and training team officer in-charge Dilshad Bangash were also present.

Mr Rasool said three more batches of the force would be trained by December.

He said the training was being conducted on directives of NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai.

Dr Nasir said the recruits would be provided with all necessary facilities during the training.

The training will cover courses pertaining to law and order, minor tactics, traffic and mob control, poppy eradication, Frontier Crime Regulation, bomb disposal and quick reaction force.

In Fata, 2,800 levies jawans are being recruited who will be imparted training during 2007.
