Shutterdown strike

GUJRANWALA, Jan 16: Residents, traders and transporters of Naushera Virkan on Tuesday observed a complete shutter down and wheel-jam strike against the rising incidence of robberies.

They also took out a procession against the administration and police.

Reports said Anjuman Tajran, transporters’ union and citizens organisation had announced strike against the rising crime. They took out a procession which started from main bazaar, led by Anjuman Tajran president Abdul Sattar and heads of others organizations, and ended at bus stand.

The protesters were chanting slogans against the administration and police. They were demanding action against negligent and inefficient police officers.
