BD pair fined for misconduct

DHAKA, Jan 16: Former captain Khaled Mashud and batsman Mohammad Ashraful have been fined by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for comments they made in local print media.

“Khaled Mashud and Mohammad Ashraful have been fined 50 percent and 15 percent respectively of a (future) One-day International match fee for their recent comments published in the print media,” the BCB said in a statement on Tuesday.

Batsman Aftab Ahmed was cautioned for the same offence.

The three were quoted in the media making derogatory comments against the cricket board and some of their team-mates.

Mashud, Ashraful and Aftab are likely to be included in the Bangladesh squad that will play four One-day Internationals in Zimbabwe next month.—Reuters
