KARACHI, Jan 23: Jamshed Town Nazim Muhammad Arif Ajakia on Tuesday directed concerned officials to remove encroachments along procession routes and declare them no parking zones so that citizens attending mourning processions may not face hardships.

He issued this directive while visiting various procession routes in his town. He asked concerned departments to solve complaints regarding cleanliness and sewerage immediately and ensure availability of water and ambulance along procession routes.

He urged citizens to maintain peace and brotherhood during Muharram. He appealed to mourners to keep vigil on anti-social elements and inform Madadgar 15 about any suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, SITE Town Nazim Izharuddin Ahmed Khan presiding over a meeting asked KESC officials to solve power supply problems at the earliest.

During the meeting, union council nazims informed the authorities about the problems faced by their localities like shortage of PMTs, shortage of electric poles, and 37-year-old electric wires.

KESC officials asked UC nazims to identify those involved in stealing electricity and assured them of taking action. They said the issue to increase capacity of PMT had already been mulled over.

Naib Town Nazim Syed Badshah Khan, TMO Imran Aslam, TMO (Regulations), TO Finance, ATO M&A, MD KESC, UC nazims and councillors attended the meeting.

GULSHAN TOWN: Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town Nazim Muhammad Wasay Jalil met Muhammad Ali Society Chairman Khalid Illahi and Secretary Geeti Saad in UC-1 and inspected the ongoing uplift work in the area.

He directed the concerned officials to complete sewerage lines work as earlier as possible so that area people could be facilitated during Muharram.
