SHO occupies doctor’s residence

GUJRANWALA, Jan 23: The Naushera Virkan SHO on Tuesday occupied the official residence of a health officer of the tehsil headquarters hospital.

Earlier, the health department had the Naushera Virkan tehsildar and SHO evicted from hospital residences sometime back.

On Tuesday, newly-posted SHO Khalid Gujjar broke open the doors of the residence and occupied it. Paramedical staff and other officials of the hospital protested the action and demanded the SHO’s eviction.

Robbed: Two houses were robbed while two cars and a motorcycle were taken away in the city on Tuesday.

Four outlaws forced their entry into the house of Riaz Ahmad in Peoples Colony, held up inmates and locked them in a room. They collected Rs200,000 in cash, 35 tola gold, two mobile phones and other valuables and escaped.

As many bandits burst into the house of Siddique in Khokheriki.

They tied up the inmates and got away with Rs100,000 in cash, 25 tola gold, two mobile phones and other valuables. Syed Tahir Ahmad of Farid Town was deprived of his car and Rs70,000 by armed men. The car of Azhar Husain was stolen from outside his house in the Sabzi Mandi area.

Afzal Awan of Aroop was deprived of his motorcycle by two robbers.
