LARKANA, Jan 23: A raiding party of sessions court of Larkana recovered Arbab Chandio from the illegal confinement of the Haidri police station on Tuesday. The raid was conducted on the directive of the district and session judge in the aftermath of a petition filed by his brother

Gulsher Chandio, alleging that the Haidri police had arrested his brother Arbab Chandio and Moor Bhutto a week ago and illegally detained them.

The court appointed Pir Bakhsh Khokhar as raid commissioner and assigned him to locate the detainees. During a surprise visit to the Haidri police station, the raid commissioner found Arbab Chandio at the police station.

The duty officer could not produce any papers validating his arrest.

The detainee was released and the officer in-charge was directed to appear in the court on Wednesday along with documents, if any, regarding the arrest of Mr Chandio.

INJURED: The district officer education (elementary), Qambar-Shahdadkot, Qurban Rajpar and his driver Qasim Katpar were attacked and injured by a group of people while they were going to the session court for hearing of a case.

They received injuries when the attackers hit them with sticks.

Mr Rajpar later informed the police about the incident.
