KARACHI: Altaf slams terror attacks

KARACHI, Jan 29: In Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has expressed grief over the loss of life in another suicide blast in Dera Ismail Khan and rocket attack on an Imambargah in Bannu district and condemned the act of terrorism. He said such acts of terrorism had immensely disturbed the whole nation.

Mr Hussain said such serial attacks in the NWFP clearly showed that those involved in such sabotage activities were enemy of humanity. He urged people of both sects to foil the designs of terrorists by forging unity. He also called upon the ulema to play their positive role in promoting peace at this crucial juncture.

Offering his condolences to the bereaved families, Mr Hussain said every member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was with them in their grief.

He urged President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to take serious notice of the terror acts in the NWFP and order effective action against those involved.

Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain said the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain is a beacon of light which always inspires those who are on the path of virtue and justice.

In his message on the occasion of Ashura, Mr Hussain said Imam Hussain and his companions did not bow to the tyrant leaders and sacrificed their lives in their struggle for uprightness, which gave a strong lesson to humanity and inspired all striving for a just system.

He called upon religious leaders of all schools of thought and people at large to jointly struggle against the wicked powers and keep unity among themselves.
