KARACHI, Feb 6: The MQM chief, Altaf Hussain addressed a rally held in Delhi Colony on Monday night, in which he alleged that the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto presided over the killing of innocent people in Karachi during the state sponsored operation in the mid 90s in which thousands of MQM workers were killed in extra judicial killings.

The MQM leader alleged that PPPP chairperson awarded gold medals and awards to those state officials who were involved in the extra judicial killings.

Altaf Hussain went on to add that his brother Zakir, and nephew Arif, were killed in the same violence, even though they were not MQM party workers.

Mr Hussain said the people could never forget these tragic incidents when funerals of youngsters were taken out from each street of the city.

He also said that he left the country at that time because assassination attempts were being made on his life. He said that truth always prevailed and today all oppressed people of the country were united under the banner of MQM.

He said the meeting was evidence that Sindhis, Punjabis, Mohijars, Pushtoon, Saraiki and Kashmiris supported MQM's philosophy.

He recalled that PPPP chairperson had called him a coward when she was prime minister, "because I had left the country. Today I ask her that why is she living aboard and avoiding the courts in Pakistan?" he asked.

He added that he did not rob any wealth and did not deceive the people but always MQM had done remarkable services for the all across the country without any prejudices and October 8 earthquake was proof of his party's commitment.

He added that those forces that had always hatched conspiracies and divided Pakistan were united against the MQM because it wanted to abolish the feudal system inthe country.

He said that MQM city nazim and naib nazim carried out mega projects for the development of the city, which have never taken place in the history of the Karachi. He said that MQM is now a party in which people from all the provinces were united under its flag.
