LARKANA, Feb 8: An ambulance carrying a dead body from Karachi to Gaibidero was intercepted by a group of armed menin the jurisdiction of Drigh police station on Wednesday night.

People accompanying the body took cover in the bushes as armed men opened fire on the ambulance.

The driver, Gulzar Buledi, despite receiving bullet injuries, drove the ambulance to the police station and handed over the body to the relatives, sources said.

The attackers were the rivals of the people accompanying the body, the sources said.

Killed: A transporter, Ali Baig Khoso, was shot dead in Qambar town on Thursday at the Tower Chowk and escaped.

The murder was the outcome of an old enmity, police said and added that on the complaint of Hubdar, the brother of the deceased, a case was filed against eight people. He was killed when he refused to wind up a case of Mir Baig Khoso (foot tracker) who had been killed by Magsis, the complainant said in the FIR.
