HARIPUR, Feb 8: A mother of five children reportedly committed suicide following a petty dispute with her mother-in-law at Ghumawan village, some 25km off here, on Thursday.

Police and family sources said that Zainab Bibi, wife of Akram, went to fetch water from a nearby spring leaving behind her six months old daughter.

During her absence the infant kept on crying which infuriated her mother-in-law who snubbed Zainab on her return.

The sources said Zainab locked herself in a room and hanged from a ceiling fan.

KILLED: A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his brother over a dispute in Kundi Ghazi village on Thursday.

The accused after committing the crime courted his arrest at the Ghazi police station.

Police quoted Wahab Khan as saying that his elder brother Majid Khan used to misbehave with his wife and was allegedly involved in immoral activities which were bringing bad name to the family.
