Petition seeks release of 3 men held by agencies

By Amanullah Kasi

QUETTA, Feb 8: Maulana Noor Muhammad, the provincial chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl), has filed a constitutional petition in the Balochistan High Court against the arrest of three men allegedly held by personnel of an intelligence agency.

The petitioner, who is also a member of the National Assembly from Quetta, stated in the petition that the agency personnel had arrested Maulvi Abdul Khaliq, Maulvi Abdul Bari and Muhammad Akbar from Quetta.

The petitioner alleged that the illegal arrest of the people by members of intelligence agencies was now a routine matter.

He prayed to the court to issue recovery order of the arrested men and declare the arrest unlawful.
