HYDERABAD: BD envoy seeks more trade with Pakistan

HYDERABAD, Feb 25: Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Pakistan Saqib Ali has said that great opportunities exist for increasing trade between Pakistan and Bangladesh and stressed the need for exchange of trade delegations between the two countries.

He was speaking at the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Saturday.

He said that following participation of Pakistan in the Dhaka international trade fair, trade between the two countries had increased from $50 million to $260 million.

He said that it was an encouraging trend which would further strengthen trade relations between the two countries.

He said that the Bangladesh government had granted tax exemptions to foreign investors and added that labour was cheap and gas tariff low in his country.
