Owais to lead KU hockey squad

KARACHI, Feb 26: Directorate of Physical Education Karachi University on Monday named an 18-member hockey squad for zone ‘F’ Inter University Championship starting from Tuesday.

Centre-Half Owais Shahid of the Faculties has been named to lead the team.

Besides Karachi University, Sir Syed University and Hamdard University are taking part in the three-day competition which will conclude on March 1. One top team will qualify for the final rounds.

Karachi University squad: Owais Shahid (captain), Mohammad Shoaib, S M Ammar Raz, Abid Naeem, Yasir, Mohammad Omar, Imran Khan, Tauqeer Abbas, Talha Ghouri, Adil Askari, Yasir Niaz, S M Raza Jaffery, Javed Aslam, Hurr Abbas, Sohail Kashani, S Askari Hassan and Khurram Razzaq. –APP
