KARACHI: Leeds lord mayor calls on city nazim

KARACHI, Feb 27: A visiting delegation led by Lord Mayor of Leeds called on the city nazim at his secretariat on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Mohammad Iqbal, said the ties between Karachi and Leeds will strengthen as a result of cooperation in trade, education and health.

The 45-year-old mayor said this was the first time he was visiting Karachi and was impressed to meet the young and dynamic leadership of city. He said the leadership of both cities had agreed to cooperate for the uplift of their cities.

The mayor is leading a delegation of teachers, medical experts and businessmen to explore avenues in different sectors in Pakistan.

In his address, City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal welcomed the Lord Mayor of Leeds and his delegation and briefed them about development projects inKarachi.
