KARACHI, Feb 27: The court of additional district and sessions judge South, Sherbano Karim, sentenced a rapist Sarfaraz son of Amir Bukhsh to four years rigorous imprisonment.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs10,000 on him, who would have to undergo an additional six month imprisonment if he failed to pay the fine.

Sarfaraz is a resident of Kashmir Colony, who was arrested by the police on a complaint lodged by his wife.

His wife, Mrs Bilqis daughter of Bashir Ahmad — a housemaid by profession — had lodged an FIR with the Mehmoodabad Police Station on February 27, 2004 stating that she had two daughters, Farzana (11) and Rukhsana (8) from her first husband, who used to stay at home during her absence in the day.

According to Biqis, Sarfaraz raped her elder daughter various times in her absence.

The accused, during the police investigation, has also confessed his crime.
