Pakistan veterans triumph

LAHORE, Feb 27: Despite Vivek Razadan’s century Pakistan’s senior cricket team defeated Indian veterans by 43 runs in the third one-day at the New Delhi's Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium on Tuesday.

Pakistan made a clean sweep by winning the third game and the series 3-0, a message received from India said.

The touring team powered by sizzling half centuries by Ejaz Ahmad (64), Azam Khan (57) and Amir Akbar (55) scored 283 for loss of five wickets in allotted 50 overs.

Narender Mirwani took two wickets for India while Sanjeev Sharma, Rajesh Chuhan and Vijay Bahudar got one each.

In reply, India scored 240 for loss of eight wickets.

Vivek Razadan (102) and Sanjeev Sharma (33) were the only prominent scores for India.

Skipper Abdul Qadir, Ejaz Faqih and Arshad Khan snapped up two wickets each.

The winning team will return home on Wednesday.—APP
