KARACHI, March 20: Sindh Chief Secretary Shakil Durrani has directed all district coordination officers to ensure timely completion of development schemes which will help in solving basic problems of common man.

The chief secretary was presiding over a meeting at his office on Tuesday which also considered determination of resources, assets and liabilities among Kashmore and Jacobabad districts.

The meeting decided that DCOs of Kashmore and Jacobabad should coordinate with local government and finance departments to adopt an effective strategy for the purpose.Pointing out that transfer of power at the lowest level was aimed at providing basic facilities to people, he said if there were administrative or financial complications due to creation of new districts these issues should be resolved through a feasible formula and departmental coordination.

The chief secretary directed the finance and local government department officials to release funds as per rules and regulations for development projects without any delay.

He said besides provision of health, education, water supply and sewerage facilities on priority basis, other problems should also be mitigated so that stability of a welfare society based on well-knit development and prosperity could be ensured.
