MIRPURKHAS, March 20: Chief of Sindh United Party, Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, has said that Sindh is getting only a fraction of what it is paying to the federation.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr Shah said that SUP was launched with an aim to eradicate injustice, unemployment and poverty from the province.

Syed Jalal Shah deplored that representatives of Sindh had not highlighted the problems of the province in the assemblies adding that the NFC award and water issues were raised only to cash in on Sindh card.

He lamented that Sindh chief minister was powerless and administration of the province was being run by the federal government. He has no power to appoint chief secretary or the provincial police officer of his choice.

He said that those living in Sindh were Sindhis and added that locals had the first right on resources and then Sindh and the federation.

He further said that his party would contest general election with its own symbol.

He said that district level activist were being appointed who would organise the party on taluka and union council level.

NO FUNCTION: No ceremony on behalf of district government Mirpurkhas and PML-F was held on Tuesday on occasion of 64th death anniversary of Sooriah Badhshah Pir Sibghatullah Shah.

It may be recalled that the District Nazim of Mirpurkhas Dr Sughra Junejo had announced a public holiday on Tuesday to observe death anniversary of Sooriah Badhshah. The departments under the district government remained closed on Tuesday.
