QUETTA, March 20: The lawyers in Quetta and other district headquarters of Balochistan will boycott the proceedings of the courts on Wednesday on the call of Pakistan Bar Council to force the government to reinstate Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

Balochistan High Court Bar Association president Hadi Shakeel said in a statement on Tuesday that the lawyers would take out a procession from the district court in the provincial capital that would pass through different roads and end in front of the Press Club.

Six lawyers -- Raja Rab Nawaz, Aurangzeb Kasi, Sadullah Khan, Rashid Awan, Muhibullah and Shabana Azim — observed token hunger strike on Tuesday.

The lawyers also boycotted the courts for one hour.
