Three die in accident

NOWSHERA, March 20: Two children and their mother were killed when a chairlift overturned over River Kabul and its cable snapped on Tuesday.

Eight people, most of them of the same family, were crossing the river in the chairlift when the accident occurred. Five of them were saved by people.

The bodies of Tasleem, wife of Islamuddin, her six-year-old daughter Faiqa and 13-year-old son Yasir Khan could not be recovered.

Witnesses said the chairlift had overturned because of gushing river water.—Correspondent
