Vaughan in new injury scare

GROS ISLET, March 20: England captain Michael Vaughan suffered an injury scare on Tuesday after tripping over a pothole during practice.

Vaughan, who played no further part in training after the incident, was given ice treatment on his right knee.

He needed an operation on the same knee last year which caused him to miss a substantial part of the season.

England management played down the scare, though.

“He is absolutely fine. He fell in a small hole that was in the outfield and banged his knee,” said a spokesman.

A Reuters photographer, Darren Staples, who witnessed Vaughan receiving treatment, said the England captain walked away from the session afterwards without a limp or any apparent discomfort.—Reuters
