LAHORE, March 20: Wapda and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) have qualified for the final stage of men's and women's team event of the 50th National badminton championship by winning their respective semi-finals at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Tuesday.

In men's semi-finals, Wapda crushed Railways 3-1 while NBP defeated New Khan 3-2.

In women's semi-finals, Wapda and NBP ousted Railways and Army respectively with similar margins of 3-0.

NBP bt New Khan 3-2: Ijaz-Atif Ashraf bt Masih-Nadeem Zafar 21-11, 21-17; Rizwan Azam-Kashif bt Hashir-Wasim Butt 21-16, 21-18; Atif bt Intikhab 21-16, 21-12; Rizwan Azam lost to Ashraf Masih 18-21, 21-10, 18-21; Ijaz lost to Hashir Basheer 10-21, 19-21.

Wapda bt Railways 3-1: Umer Zeeshan bt Imran Laeeq 21-7, 21-13; Nabeel-Zohaib bt Waqas-Rizwan 21-17, 21-16; Zafar Tasneem bt Mushtaq 21-9, 9-21, 21-18; Atiq-Zeeshan bt Akhtar-Zaheer 21-10, 19-21, 21-11.

Women (semi-finals):

NBP bt Army 3-0: Sara Mohmand bt Sara 21-7, 21-7, Sara Khan-Palwasha bt Sana-Aqsa 21-8, 21-9; Ayesha Akram bt Aqsa Razzaq 21-11, 21-12.

Wapda bt Railways 3-0: Samina Manzoor bt Yasmeen 21-6, 21-9; Asma Butt-Uzma Butt bt Yasmeen-Sumair 21-9, 21-3; Uzma Butt bt Salma 21-9, 21-7.
