QUETTA, March 20: Two policemen were injured in a hand-grenade attack on a police vehicle here on Tuesday night while gas supply was suspended to many areas in Mastung after a gas pipeline was blown up.

Police said that two people, who were riding a motorcycle, had hurled a hand-grenade at a van of the Bajli Road Police Station that was parked near the Pishin bus terminal.

“Two policemen were seriously wounded in the attack,” Khalid Manzoor, a senior police officer said. He identified the injured constables as Mohammad Asif and Anwar and said they had been admitted to the Civil Hospital, Quetta. The vehicle was badly damaged, police sources said. The attackers reportedly escaped.

Meanwhile, a 4-inch-diameter pipeline was blown up in Killi Shiekhan in Mastung town. Police officials said: “Gas supply to several areas in the town has been suspended.”
