LAHORE, March 23: The Punjab PML has criticised the ‘negative’ attitude of the opposition and expressed solidarity with the media. In its meeting held in connection with Pakistan Day at the Muslim League House here on Friday with provincial secretary-general Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan in the chair, the participants adopted resolutions condemning the attack on a private television channel in Islamabad and expressed the hope that the media would expose the negative political and social character of the political parties undermining the national solidarity.

Mr Khan said Pakistan had not come into being for any particular religion, sect or class. All sections of society, which struggled for the creation of Pakistan, were represented on the PML which was striving for implementation of its manifesto and opposing the domination of any family or group on economic resources or power.

Punjab PML senior vice-president Arshad Lodhi said President Musharraf, PML chief Shujaat Husain and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi were making sincere efforts to give the people what was due to them but their opponents wanted to halt the process of development by entangling them in the non-issues.
