LAHORE, March 23: Pakistan's tour to England in 2010 has been rescheduled for 2012, when Pakistan will play an additional Twenty20 match to compensate England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)for the financial losses it suffered due to the Oval Test abandonment last year.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Saleem Altaf, who returned on Friday after holding meetings with the officials of the ECB and Surrey county, told Dawn that the two boards had agreed to reschedule the tour.
He said due to the decision, the PCB would have to make a slight changes in the tour of India and the Asia Cup, two other events of 2012. He said ECB was interested in to get £800,000 from the PCB as compensation of the Oval Test losses.
He said the PCB was ready to play a match against England at any place without earning any money to compensate their losses but not to pay any amount.
The ECB had to return the money to the tickets-buyers of the entire fifth day and post-tea play.
Saleem said Surrey would release an amount of £247,000 to the PCB, likely on Monday, to rebuild the cricket infrastructure in the areas of NWFP and Azad Kashmir.
