KARACHI: Ulema slam violence

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 14: Various religious scholars on Saturday said though they supported the issues raised by the Lal Masjid administration, they did not support the violent method they had adopted to implement their demands.

Speaking at a press briefing at the conclusion of a daylong Ulema convention organised by the Wafaq-ul-Madaris-il-Arabia Pakistan at the Jamia Al-Uloom Al Islamia Binori Town, they advised the government and the mosque administration to resolve the issue through negotiations.

Maulana Haneef Jalandhry and Mufti Rafi Usmani said all Pakistanis wanted implementation of Shariah, but they did not support violence.
