Social and religious circles deplored the incident and demanded an early arrest of culprits.

TRAFFIC: Traffic between Manawala and Shahkot near Kotla Kohlun, some 60 km away from here, remained suspended after the death of a man and his son in an accident on Saturday evening.

The victims on board a donkey cart were on way to Kotla Kahlun village when a speeding truck hit them.

Scores of people gathered on the spot and blocked the dual carriageway for several hours.

The protesters chanted slogans against the NHA for not removing the U-turn on the busy highway causing frequent fatal accidents.

Nankana DPO Umer Farooq Bhatti reached the spot and got traffic restored.
